Blacksburg Rugby

Having completed the 2010-2011 competitive season with a creditable third-place finish in the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union's Senior Men's Division III competition, Blacksburg will keep busy in the offseason with sevens training at 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Blacksburg Match Ground beginning Tuesday, 17 May. In addition to Blacksburg players, players from nearby clubs and new players are welcome to attend training sessions and tournaments with Blacksburg. For those not interested in playing the seven-a-side version of rugby at tournaments during the summer, touch rugby sessions will be held concurrently with the sevens training sessions.

A tournament itinerary for Blacksburg will be finalized one availability of interested players during the summer is confirmed. Players should be prepared to announce their availability for several potential tournaments during the summer, including:

• 28 May, Richmond, VA: Monk Vaughn 7's
• 4 June, Virginia Beach, VA: Virginia Beach 7's
• 11 June, Fayetteville, NC: Ft. Bragg 7's
• 18 June, Greensboro, NC: Pour House 7's
• 4-5 July, Wilmington, NC: Cape Fear 7's
