Good Progress for Blacksburg at River Valley

Blacksburg picked up much-needed experience playing on the road with a jaunt over the West Viriginia border to play the River Valley Vipers in Institute, West Virginia. The Vipers, a promising club advancing through the development process since being founded a few years ago, were excellent hosts and offered a spirited match for the traveling Blacksburg representatives.

As has been the case with some of Blacksburg's other Spring 2011 trial matches, River Valley brought plenty of physicality and hustle against Blacksburg but had a little bit less fortune than Blacksburg in turning chances into points. A 56-0 final score does a poor job of reflecting the efforts of the Vipers, who were often just a few missing pieces away from piling on the points.

Everyone at Blacksburg is grateful to River Valley for their hospitality in continuing what will hopefully be a consistent friendly match series between the clubs. Next Saturday, a shorter trip to Roanoke awaits Blacksburg, while River Valley heads to a tournament in Morgantown, West Virginia. Blacksburg supporters are encouraged to make the quick drive to Roanoke to join the fun.
