Cross-Town Friendly Series to Preface Blacksburg Season Friday
Blacksburg will iron out the kinks with a friendly doubleheader against Virginia Tech Friday, 11 September before beginning its challenging Virginia Rugby Union Mens Division III fixtures the following weekend. The Blacksburg Developmental squad will challenge Virginia Tech's reserves at 6:00 p.m., while Blacksburg's and Virginia Tech's first grades will square off immediately after around 8:00 p.m. both of the night's matches will be played at Virginia Tech's match ground on Tech Center Drive near Lane Stadium.
Both matches will feature some experimentation with player combinations and make liberal use of substitutions, but the competitiveness and pace of play is expected to be intense nonetheless. All Blacksburg and Virginia Tech supporters are encouraged to make the trip to the VT campus and enjoy the evening.
