Second Half Sees Blacksburg past James River
Blacksburg's last home fixture of the season saw the side host James River from Richmond. Having not played a match in three weeks due to an off week and forfeit win on previous weekends, Blacksburg was prone to some early wobbles and miscues and spotted the guests a 5-0 halftime lead. In the second half, though, the hosts sorted things out and darted through to a 34-10 win. A number of standout performances were notable, including multiple tries from standout loose forward Caleb Williams and a try from outside back Paul Pilone on debut. In the end, the man of the match award was divided among two deserving players: props Nick and Joe Amoroso.
Blacksburg now gears up for a three-match road tour, which starts next weekend against Blackwater in Lynchburg.
